19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the final five points to take the lead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to create a third set.
He defended 4 initial chances in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
